“ANCIENT MYTHS AND MODERN IMAGES,” BY GEORG VIHOS
Sarasota, Fla.- Mack b gallery presents Georg Vihos’ “Ancient Myths and Modern Images,” May 6-31, with an opening reception Saturday, May 6, 6:30-9:30pm. Vihos creates expressive works with paper cut outs and mixed media that are framed within the artists’ patented archival encasement system. His method of framing allows his marks to appear as though they aren’t dependant on the surface by shifting our focus to their texture and physicality. Georg Vihos has exhibited repeatedly at The Detroit Art Institute and The Art Institute of Chicago and has been the recipient of the US Fulbright-Hays Fellowship stay in Italy. Georg Vihos will be giving an artist talk to discuss his influences and intentions on Tuesday, May 9, 7-9pm.
